The International Wine Contest
Tasting Procedure
For the organisation of its International Wine Contest, Monde Selection strictly applies the international European regulations.
The competition happens every year, during the first trimester, and lasts for three days.
First, all the files, including the laboratory analysis, of the participating wines are controlled by:
- the Directorate General for Federal Public Service Economy – Enforcement and Mediation.
All the different juries, made up of international experts, are separated in groups of minimum 7 persons.
Then, each judge tastes the products blindly and fills in an individual tasting sheet according to the model of the OIV and the UIOE, International Union of Oenologists.
This sensory tasting sheet includes the following parameters: Visual, nose, taste and general harmony of the product.
Then, before calculation, the tasting sheets are controlled by the Federal Public Service Economy.
Finally, scores, given by the different jury members, are added up and averaged to a final result and rewarded a bronze, silver, gold or grand gold medal.
