Monde Selection originally started in 1961 and since then has tested a very wide array of products from food & beverages to Cosmetics & Toiletries, Tobacco products and more recently added Diet & Health Products to this Certification and Quality Label Section. Contrary to the Selection & Quality Award, the Certification & Quality Label presents products directly to our laboratories (Brucefo & Biotox) after a very strict study of the commercially advanced components of the products presented. As one will understand, Monde Selection's role is not to test products for their claimed properties but more precisely for verifying that what the customer buys in terms of the components of a product are correct. Calories, vitamins, carbohydrates, amino acids, and other food components are part of the standard tests in the Diet & Health Selection. In the Cosmetics & Toiletries, the major components claims are assessed and verified. As for the Tobacco products, these are verified in conformity with E.U. laws on tobacco products (Tar, Nicotine,...). Our judgments & analysis carried out are always done in order to advise producers and manfacturers but more importantly, with the interest and protection of the end consumer in mind. All tests are carried out by our laboraties officially accredited by the Belgian Federal Public Service, Brucefo & Biotox.
