Monde Selection has been involved in Tobacco Products quality certification for many decades now. As with the Cosmetic Products, all Tobacco Products are directed to one of our two laboratories: BRUCEFO and BIOTOX. Analysis carried out in the laboratories are predefined by our Selection President, who, after thorough analysis of the documents and information at hand (pamphlet, notice of use, external product label, packaging labelling,...) will determine which of the contents, application performance are to be verified. Upon verification the results are then analysed and compared with the original information.

In the Tobacco Selection, the European legislation on tobacco products is applied to all registered samples. At time of publishing these, the 2008 standards are the following:

• Nicotine 1,0 mg/cigarette (maximum)
• Carbon monoxide 10 mg/cigarette (maximum)
• Tar 10 mg/cigarette (maximum).

. A maximum variance of plus or minus 10 percent is allowed for any one of the components analysed.
