The Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (O.I.V), through its General Director in Paris, granted its official High Patronage for the 2008 International Wine Contest of Monde Selection. The contest will take place in Brussels, Belgium in March 2008.

On top of this excellent and unique patronage, The International Wine Contest of Monde Selection is under the supervision of the Belgian National Enforcement & Mediation Directorate General for the Federal Public Service Economy, part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, verifying on the application of the O.I.V Rules & Regulations.

Participation is open to all wine-producers, dealers, wine-growers, distributors, exporters, importers, etc. There are a total of six Groups & Categories for which all participants are entitled to enter as many products as desired.

The Organizing Committee of Monde Selection appoints International Jury members. All members are selected according to their recognized professional proficiency as wine tasters or oenologists. The "Union Internationale des Oenologues" tasting sheets for still wines and for sparkling wines will be used for the contest. Wines competing for the award will be tasted in conditions of total anonymity. In accordance with the official rules and regulations on Wine Contests in Europe, The sum for all medals awarded to the samples that obtained the best results may not exceed 30 % of the sum total of all the samples entered for the Contest.
