Supporting skin resilience through advanced hydration

Designed to address dehydration and skin sensitivity, the JIE Ultimate AQP Gel adopts a targeted approach to hydration through the optimisation of water movement within the epidermis. This focus on aquaporin pathways highlights a more technical direction in skincare formulation.

A high-performance hydrating mask built on advanced water-transport mechanisms, delivering targeted moisture replenishment alongside barrier reinforcement.

Contained in a functional and protective packaging system, JIE Ultimate AQP Gel incorporates environmental element such as recyclable materials and the use of vegetable-based inks.

The gel presents as a clear, structured hydrogel with a smooth and uniform appearance, indicative of a controlled biopolymer network designed for consistent application.

The scent is subtle and unobtrusive, aligning with a formulation developed for sensitive or compromised skin, where tolerance is prioritised over fragrance.

On application, the hydrogel texture spreads evenly, offering a fresh and comfortable sensation with immediate hydration and a soft, lightly protective finish.

The formulation is based around a differentiated approach centred on the stimulation of aquaporins (AQP-3), a relatively underutilised mechanism in cosmetic applications, enabling improved transport of water and glycerol within the epidermis. This is supported by a minimalist composition of fourteen ingredients largely composed of functional actives, reflecting a high level of discipline without unnecessary additions. The biopolymer hydrogel technology facilitates the controlled release of these actives while forming a light protective film on the skin, contributing to both immediate and sustained hydration.

Key ingredients include:

  • Glyceryl glucoside, supporting water transport and hydration mechanisms
  • Panthenol (3%), contributing to soothing and barrier repair
  • Glycerine, a recognised humectant that enhances moisture retention
  • Aloe vera, known for its soothing and hydrating properties
  • Trehalose, helping to protect against dehydration
  • Allantoin, contributing to skin comfort and soothing

These ingredients work together to provide a comprehensive response to dehydration and barrier impairment, with properties supported by both clinical and experimental data.

Clinical results confirm the product’s performance, with a rapid increase in hydration (+65% within 30 minutes), sustained effects over time (up to +38% at 6 hours), a reduction in transepidermal water loss (-22%) and an overall improvement in barrier quality. The formulation also demonstrates strong performance in post-procedure applications, including post-laser care, with reductions in erythema, accelerated re-epithelialisation and improved skin comfort.

Tolerance has been thoroughly assessed, with the formula shown to be non-irritating and non-sensitising through clinical (RIPT) and toxicological testing, making it suitable for sensitive and compromised skin. The composition maintains a high level of naturality, estimated at around 90%, while keeping environmental impact relatively low despite the presence of a small proportion of synthetic polymer. The preservation system relies on multifunctional agents rather than conventional preservatives and has been validated through rigorous microbiological testing.

Its targeted hydration strategy, clinically demonstrated efficacy and disciplined formulation approach support its nomination for the 2026 Jury Prize.
