A kaoliang of great and beautiful complexity

Produced in Taiwan by the company KKL (Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc.), Kinmen Kaoliang VSO is the crown jewel of a range of spirits that is produced in keeping with the traditional distillation of a must made up of sorghum and wheat.

Specialising in the production of this typically Taiwanese product, KKL offers a wide range of kaoliang variants. The characteristic feature of this luxury version is that it has been aged for five years in granite tunnels using traditional distillation techniques. This process leaves the product with an unequaled smoothness and depth.

Presented in a luxurious red box adorned with gold lettering and packaged in a carafe reminiscent of the luxurious packaging of certain French cognacs, the Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor V.S.O. also comes with two small tasting glasses.

Beyond its exquisite presentation, which makes the liquor a luxurious gift, this bottle offers an unparalleled tasting pleasure that also made it highly popular with the Monde Selection jury.

The praises rendered by the specialists read as follows:

“The scent is very rich and fruity with a beautiful intensity and a magnificent opening… Taste-wise, we encounter a beautiful harmony, with the fruit and the grain merging in a well-balanced and rounded way… In spite of its alcoholic strength, the alcohol is very well blended and well balanced, with the product ending on a beautiful fruity note… The nose is expressive, marked by spices and flowers… The finish presents an explosion of complex flavours.”

A quality package that naturally led this product to receive its very much deserved Grand Gold medal as well as this nomination for the Jury Prize.

“Each year, one product per category is awarded the Prize of the Jury as a token of excellence in know-how and quality. In order to qualify, the product must be unanimously selected as a “coup de cœur” by the jury members. The winner of the Prize of the Jury is then selected from a group of just 5 nominees, which makes this award an even greater honour for the recipient.”
