Taiwan Makauy Superb Craft -Gin

Produced by the Taiwan Wine Company, this gin was created in the London Dry style and owes its name, “Makauy,” to a typical spice found on the island where it was crafted: mountain pepper. This unique spice combines the fragrance of pepper with hints of lemongrass, thyme, ginger, and citrus. In addition to this ingredient, the creators of the product also incorporated juniper berries, slices of almond, lemon zest, jasmine green tea, sweet orange peel, and grapefruit peel.

As a result, it yields a perfectly clear and colorless gin, presented in an attractive white glass bottle with simple yet elegant and contemporary shapes, adorned with a beautiful white label embellished with subtle gold sparkles.

The delicate aroma is strongly influenced by the spices used, without the occasionally overwhelming fragrance found in some comparable products that can become overpowering.

On the palate, it reveals complexity, displaying both energy and a slight sweetness, while also being noticeably marked by alcohol and citrus notes.

Finally, the finish is long and aromatic, making this gin suitable for enjoying neat without any issues.

With its impressive qualities, the tasters from Monde Selection have ranked it among the products in its category that have the nominee for this year’s Jury Prize.
