Hopnosis is presented in a 355 ml can, combining a vivid, eye-catching design with fully recyclable, plastic-free materials—an approach that reinforces the brewery’s commitment to sustainability.
From a sensory perspective, the jury noted the beer’s striking golden colour, with the occasional light haze adding a natural, unfiltered touch. A dense white head forms a fine, lasting mousse, enhancing the visual appeal.
Aromatically, Hopnosis delivers with clarity and confidence. Mango and grapefruit take the lead, joined by more subtle floral and citrus tones. The nose is expressive yet focused, remaining well within the stylistic expectations of a West Coast IPA while still capturing a sense of tropical brightness.
On the palate, the beer makes an immediate impression. A firm, persistent bitterness sets the tone, quickly followed by tropical and citrus notes that echo the nose. A faint roasted undertone brings contrast and complexity. The flavour profile is direct and lean, supported by a dry backbone that accentuates its hop-driven character.
The mouthfeel is light and energetic, lifted by crisp carbonation that enhances its clean, bitter finish. While the texture avoids excess roundness, it supports the assertive structure of the beer and leaves the palate refreshed. The aftertaste is sharp, citrusy and long, with minimal residual sweetness.
For its focused bitterness, aromatic clarity and strong identity rooted in both style and place, Hopnosis earns its position as a finalist for the 2025 Jury Prize.
