Beers, Waters & Soft Drinks

Brisa Maracujá

Created in Madeira in 1970, this was the first soft drink in the world to be made from pure passion fruit juice (Passiflora Edulis) with added sugar and carbonated water and without any added colouring agents. Extremely refreshing as it is when consumed on its own, it can nevertheless also be combined with gin or vodka.

This year, the Monde Selection jury members awarded this beverage the Grand Gold Award for the thirteenth time.

This product comes bottled in a glass bottle with a holding capacity of 0.36 cl. Before serving, the beverage needs to be stirred in order to disperse the pulp that accumulates at the bottom of the bottle.

The very natural fragrance of passion fruit becomes immediately apparent on the nose thanks to its intensity, the product containing no less than 9% of the juice in question.

In the mouth, it is still the very natural quality of the product that expresses itself. It is very well supported by a significant sweetness but also very well balanced out by the natural acidity of the passion fruit, thus conferring a very thirst-quenching dimension to the beverage as a whole.

This flavour, as sweet as it is refreshing, lingers in the mouth for a long period of time after tasting.

For all these characteristics, in addition to the Grand Gold Quality Award mentioned above, the Monde Selection tasters have also decided to nominate this product among those likely to win the 2022 Jury Prize in its category.

“Each year, one product per category is awarded the Prize of the Jury as a token of excellence in know-how and quality. In order to qualify, the product must be unanimously selected as a “coup de cœur” by the jury members. The winner of the Prize of the Jury is then selected from a group of just 5 nominees, which makes this award an even greater honour for the recipient.”
