In order to meet this objective, the product is solely made up of bio-fermented yellow pea protein isolate, which serves as an alternative to animal-based protein powders. Although the product is slightly deficitary in sulfur amino acids (methionine and cysteine), the protein intake is nevertheless considered complete and markedly substantial as regards the needs of healthy adults and male and female athletes (the doses are adapted to the different consumer profiles).
In this context, Monde Selection’s experts particularly appreciated the fact that Iso Pea has the benefit of being GMO-free, does not have any added sugars, and contains all the amino acids (both the essential and the non-essential).
The absence of allergens and animal products was also highly appreciated, as this makes the product suitable for a wider range of consumers (various allergies, vegans, etc.).

Moreover, the experts considered that the fermented isolate allowed for better digestion and protected the consumer from possible discomforts – such as bloating – associated with the consumption of legumes.
In addition, consumer labelling is considered to be clear and comprehensive, while the use of pictograms facilitates the rapid understanding of key product information. The simple preparation recommendations are accompanied by recipe ideas and the ingestion advice, particularly in the context of sports, were deemed relevant.
Finally, the colourful and uncluttered packaging also found favour among the evaluators.
The Monde Selection experts were therefore pleased to award Iso Pea the Grand Gold award as well as the Jury Prize 2021.
“Each year, one product per category is awarded the Prize of the Jury as a token of excellence in know-how and quality. In order to qualify, the product must be unanimously selected as a “coup de cœur” by the jury members. The winner of the Prize of the Jury is then selected from a group of just 5 nominees, which makes this award an even greater honour for the recipient.”
