Kiwami-Daiginjo Sakura-Muromachi, Muromachi Jidai

Produced in Akaiwa city in the Okayama prefecture of Japan, this product represents the pinnacle of sake craftsmanship. Polished to 40%, this sake utilises ‘Reisen of Omachi’ spring water, one of Japan’s 100 best waters. The result is a premium sake with a sweet aroma reminiscent of white wine and a rich flavour that envelops the palate.

The sake is bottled with a traditional cap and presented in a wooden box and carton, reflecting the product’s elegance and tradition. In terms of its visual appearance, the sake is limpid and colourless, indicative of its purity and high-quality production.

On the nose, the product reveals a straightforward yet sophisticated aroma. It is fruity, floral and rich, offering a complex bouquet that is both open and refined.

The taste profile is equally impressive. It boasts a sweet yet expressive flavour finely balanced by a good body and length. The alcohol is well-integrated, and a slight bitterness in the finish adds lovely depth and complexity to a long-lasting finish that highlights the sake’s fruity notes.

Experts praised this sake for its exceptional qualities which led them to nominate it for the 2024 Jury Prize.
