Meika Syaron

Produced in Japan in the Aomori prefecture by Syaron Kanyodo Ltd, these delightful Meika Syaron coffee-flavored pancakes have been highly appreciated by the Monde Selection jury. It’s no wonder they are offered to the imperial family due to their exceptional quality.

Delicious crepes filled with coffee

Each pancake is individually wrapped with utmost care in a transparent film, which is further enclosed in a specially designed pouch to ensure the product maintains its shape without sticking to the packaging upon removal. All of these pouches are then packaged in an elegantly designed box, providing consumers with all the necessary information.

The pancake itself is exquisitely delicate, exceptionally light and airy, with a beautiful golden hue and a superb subtle biscuit-like flavor. Inside, the generous and dense filling provides an extremely pleasant sensation on the tongue, enhanced by the texture of the beans.

The aroma is marked by discreet hints of mocha that become more pronounced on the palate, accompanied by the subtle flavor of the beans, perfectly balancing the roasted notes of the coffee. The overall tasting experience is characterized by a perfect balance between restrained sweetness and the slightly smoky undertones of well-tempered mocha, complemented by the mildly smooth texture of the beans.

This harmonious ensemble lingers on the palate, delivering a highly enjoyable sensation without any false notes or lingering aftertaste that could detract from the overall pleasant tasting experience.

These qualities have led the Monde Selection tasters to rank these small pancakes as the winner for the 2023 Jury Prize.

“Each year, one product per category is awarded the Prize of the Jury as a token of excellence in know-how and quality. In order to qualify, the product must be unanimously selected as a “coup de cœur” by the jury members. The winner of the Prize of the Jury is then selected from a group of just 5 nominees, which makes this award an even greater honour for the recipient.”
